Advanced Freefall (AFF) Course Stage 1, Byron Bay - NSW

Experience the magic of Skydiving Byron Bay!!

This Freefall Skydiving Course will see you doing solo skydive jumps in no time. Complete your AFF training course with our highly experienced and professional jump masters, modern equipment for your training just a few minutes north of Byron Bay.

AFF courses are the most popular training program for someone who wants to become a licensed skydiver. The entire program has nine stages.

Stage One requires two days. The first day consists of a full day's training in the classroom with a jump master.

You will get acquainted with freefall, learn how to read your altimeter, pull your rip cord and fly your parachute. The training is quite intense, and will go from about 8 in the morning until about 4 or 5 in the afternoon.

On the second day of training, you will return to jump from 14,000 feet solo!!

! You will have two jump masters assisting your freefall, and another jump master on the ground assisting you via a helmet radio while you are under canopy and coming in to land.

Upon completion of stage one, you will receive membership to the Australian Parachute Federation, a log book and a solo jump certificate. Stages two and three are based on learning how to turn your parachute, and track across the sky.

Stage four teaches you how to control your body during freefall so that you can fall by yourself without the jump masters hanging onto you. This is the consolidation from two jump masters to one assisting you during your freefall.

Stage five teaches you how to move around the sky backwards and forwards and how to turn on the spot. Stage six teaches you how to exit the plane by yourself (without assistance from your jump master).

Stage seven concentrates on back loops and tracking across the sky. Stage eight focuses on survival skills in the air which are very important but also a lot of fun!

! You will learn the skills of fast and slow fall.

Stage nine is a lower altitude jump where you exit the plane and deploy your parachute to float down to the completion of your AFF training!!

This Experience is for stage 1 only, however you can upgrade using the options on the right hand side to include other stages or you can purchase the whole course as a all in one package. If you have upgraded to include other stages this will be indicated on your voucher
