Helicopter Twilight Joy Flights
One of the most enjoyable tours visitors can take while admiring the wonderful sights in Sydney is actually from the air! Imagine the romantic and scenic view of Sydney's beaches as the sun sets, the spectacular show of lights from the city below, from the skyline as the sky darkens. This truly magical experience is not to be missed. Viewing Sydney's twilight from the air is one of those tours one is not likely to forget for a long time to come.
This wonderful tour begins at Sydney Airport, Mascot NSW. Complimentary shuttle bus service from select city hotels may even be available. Exact information is provided during the booking of the tour. From there, however, guests can relax in the passenger lounge, enjoying a glass of complimentary champagne to set the mood for romance, fun, and enjoying the spectacular sights. Once the sun begins to set, the real fun begins as passengers put on headsets and the helicopter takes off into the twilight sky. About 1000 feet in the sky the helicopter gives a view of the city skyline as it heads towards Coogee, Bondi, and Manly beaches, offering a magnificent view of these three beaches glittering below in the soft light of the setting sun. The flight continues on as the sun sets, the pilot taking the helicopter north along the coastline of Manly Beach and the spectacular North and South Headlands, the gateway to the beautiful and world famous Sydney Harbour. Through the heads, as the helicopter continues, passengers can enjoy the sparkling vista below them as the many lights of the city come to life, against a dark backdrop of the evening sky. Along with this beautiful view of the transition into night, the pilot sweeps over the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge before final nightfall, completing a memorable flight as the helicopter returns to the airport.
This tour lasts about 25 minutes. As with any activity, safety and preparation are important. Suitable clothing for the days' weather is important to ensure comfort including sensible footwear. Keeping long hair tied back and wearing sunglasses if the glare of lights may be uncomfortable are both safety and comfort considerations. In the case of rain or other unpleasant weather, the flight will leave as scheduled as long as it is safe to fly. If severe winds, rain or low visibility causes the flight to be canceled, it will of course be rescheduled. Passengers that weigh more than 110 kg. may be subject ti additional cost. This is because there is a maximum weight allotment including fuel and passengers. Passengers exceeding this weight may be charged for an additional seat in order to maintain a safe flight. Safety instruction is provided before the flight as well as proper gear including life jackets. And don't forget that the pilot is an experienced professional and he will not fail to provide everyone with plenty of opportunities to take the perfect pictures of the many sights and enjoy the Sydney Twilight Tour experience.
