Learn To Sail - 2 Day Course
The syllabus for the Learn To Sail Course is intended for completion over 16 hours of sailing. We operate with a small group to ensure that everyone feels confident in the skills that they have learnt without the pressures of large groups.
All theory is conducted in the first 4 hours and includes knowledge of relative direction, the compass, sea terms, sail handling, rope work, fire precautions, personal safety, man overboard, flares, rules of the road, meteorology, helmsmanship, engines, plus docking, anchoring, basic navigation and radio, tides and currents. The remainder of the experience is dedicated to the practical application of what has been learnt.
Learn skills that will enable you to join a race crew with confidence and to skipper your own charter yacht any where in the world The yacht is a Bavaria 32 with two private double cabins, hot showers, toilet and fully equipped galley. On the first day of your sailing course, you'll also receive a welcome pack containing comprehensive course materials, a Yachting Australia Log Book, the Victorian Recreational Boating Safety Handbook and a Boat Smart DVD.
