Master Barista Advanced Coffee Course (VIC)
Your coffee course consists of two components that can be attended back-to-back or on separate days. During the three-hour basics class you will learn: * Where coffee comes from and how it was discovered by the Arabs and refined by the Italians (even most baristas don't know that coffee is the seed from within a cherry that grows on a tree!
) * How coffee is grown and harvested (you need to know this if you are going to discover the many tastes and aromas of coffee from different origins) * How coffee is blended and roasted (we have always said 'in the end, it's all in the blend') * How to pour the perfect espresso shot (under-extracted and it's too weak, over-extracted and it's too bitter - we tell you how to make it perfect) * The art of frothing creamy, textured milk (you don't want to create 'roadhouse' froth and we show you how to avoid it!) * How to pour all the drinks in a caf menu with style (you think you can pour a cappuccino - but can you pour a vienna, long macchiato and a doppio?
) * How to clean your equipment to maintain the taste of your coffee. During the two-hour coffee art class you will learn: * Advanced training in etching, fudge art and free-pouring There will also be a TAFE certificate included, as well as a TAFE Transcript of Academic Record.
Important Note: We are the only independent training facility in Australia able to offer a TAFE Statement of Attainment as well as a Transcript of Results that relates to the national competency in coffee-making. This means that we have been audited by the TAFE system, our teachers have Cert IV qualifications and our course teaches people exactly what is necessary (and a lot more!
) to be competent in making coffee.
