Master Barista Course
The experience of true coffee culture comes to life in this course, designed to make a master barista out of all who learn the ways of coffee. And it is not just a honorary mastery. Taught by highly qualified industry-trained instructors, this course is not just a social occasion for a few giggles. This course offers an intense barista training experience on very real commercial gear, as well as the internationally recognized TAFE certification and the TAFE Statement of Academic Record when it is completed. Along with these you will also receive an industry-recognized Barista Certificate and Coffee Art Certificate, as well as a coffee menu, etching sheet, and a PDF containing an ebook an other useful information. After this course you'll be ready to pursue a career in the coffee industry as either an expert barista or operating a cafe. Or you can just indulge in your passion for coffee and impress your friends back home.
The course is given in two parts and you can take them back to back or on separate days. In the first, you will learn all the coffee basics, including where it comes from and who discovered it. In order to learn the different tastes and aromas of coffees from different origins, you will also see how it is grown and harvested, the how it is roasted and blended in order to create unique tastes. After learning these basics comes the preparation. Learn the art of pouring the perfect espresso shot, as well as the proper frothing of milk to make it creamy and delicious and not thin and runny. Finally you will learn how to prepare all the drinks of a coffeehouse menu as well as how to clean and maintain the equipment to ensure that perfect coffee taste. The second part teaches coffee art. During this part of the course you will how to add various artistic flourishes such as etching, fudge art, and free pouring.
The entire course takes a total of five hours, with the basic class lasting three hours and the advanced class lasting two. There run in Sydney, as well as in Melbourne and Brisbane CBD on select days through out the year so it is important to check scheduling and book in advance. The classes are not affected by the weather and the classes ar kept small, no more than 12 to 17 in the Sydney course and 10 in the others. Although no experience is necessary, be ready to learn a great deal! The Master Barista Course can be the jump start to a new career or the beginning of a new passion for coffee that you can enjoy for many years to come with friends and family.
