Ready for a real wilderness adventure? Looking for a truly memorable wildlife experience? A trip to Phillip Island Wildlife & Nature Park offers a chance to see penguins, seals, and koalas as well as go behind the scenes and take an exclusive eco tour! This is an ideal all day adventure for the nature lover and like so many other adventure tours in Australia, this is one you'd likely regret missing!
Your exciting day begins with morning tea at the Churchill Island Heritage Farm, enjoying the scenic views from the cafe, including the farm animals, and the heritage gardens. Next you travel to the Koala Conservation Center for a stroll through eucalyptus woodland where the koalas live and you can spot a variety of other animals and colorful birds here as well. The treetop boardwalks allow you to get up close and personal so you can learn more about these fascinating creatures. Following that, you have the chance to explore the southern waters, with a coastal walk that takes you past colonies of seabirds and you can learn all about Seal Rock, the world's largest colony of Australian fur seals. There is an information center where you can learn as much as you like about the wildlife. After a lunch break, overlooking the wild waters of the Bass Strait, you can join in on a penguin eco tour before sunset, accompanied by a ranger as you watch the nightly Penguin Parade. Learn amazing facts about penguins and get great hints for viewing them for the evening ahead.
Finally, at sunset, the Little Penguins, the world's smallest penguins, emerge from the sea and headed ashore to their sand burrows. You can enjoy exclusive viewing as they waddle home for the night from the viewing platform and boardwalk. The perfect vantage point to enjoy this nightly spectacle!
Unfortunately as the penguins are wild animals, their numbers and activities can not be predicted or guaranteed, therefore pictures are not allowed during the Penguin Parade. Also you will have to arrange transportation to, from around the island.
