Tennis Coaching - Private Lesson
On arrival at the tennis centre, you'll be greeted by your personal coach. You'll receive a tennis show bag including sweatbands - you'll be needing them.
The coach will check your equipment, fix anything needed and lend you a demo racquet if yours is not up to scratch. First 55 minutes: A light stretch and some footwork drills.
Some mini-tennis from half court to get your rhythm, then move back and your Pro will check out your forehand, backhand, basic volleys, overheads and tweak them for biomechanical efficiency. Spins, racquet head speed and the latest technical adjustments will be the theme.
Youll then start to move around a bit, hitting a variety of strokes. It's cardio time and you'll feel your heart and lungs starting to work, so be careful not to push too hard.
You'll stop for a well-earned 10 minutes rest and then move onto the next session. Second 55 minutes: Service time, your coach will check out your ball throw and swing, look at your first and second serve percentages.
The theme for the second session will be smooth and efficient. Game time: On to the best of 5 tie-breakers and your coach will let you in on a few tactical tips on position and game style.
Altogether, you'll hit around 500 balls; run, side-skip and back-pedal around 5 kilometres before a cool down and stretch. Guaranteed to get the blood pumping!
